Press Release: FusionCast & Falon Nameplates Partnership Announcement

FusionCast™ are pleased to announce that Falon Nameplates have been appointed as the first distributor of FusionCast Engineered Metal Castings in Europe.

Falon Nameplates was founded in 1952 and has over 60 years of manufacturing experience. With this long history Falon Nameplates guarantees a Personal and Professional service.

With over 10,000 square feet of production area, Falon Nameplates is well equipped to produce High Quality cast and engraved nameplates. The addition of FusionCast to Falon Nameplates is a complimentary addition to Falon’s marketing mix enabling them to offer alternative and versatile engineered metal cast signage to their clientele in addition to their own traditionally cast metal products.

Falon Nameplates has the size, reputation, and service excellence to bring FusionCast to the European market and both companies are excited to grow together. We are confident that this will be a mutually beneficial partnership, says Randy Shermet, General Manager of FusionCast.

FusionCast is the only manufacturer of engineered Metal Cast signage. Our patented technology allows us to blend ionized metal with HDU (High Density Urethane) – as a result of our revolutionary process; FusionCast Signs are lighter weight, good value, long lasting and durable.

Our process positions the metal at the front of the plaque where it will be seen while featuring a cost effective foundation that does not compromise strength, durability or prestige. In addition the FusionCast products are less attractive to metal thieves, completely customizable and our design capabilities are limited only by the imagination.

The Fusioncast process is completely vertical as well, in that we own and control all facets of the process from client inquiry through to delivery of the finished product. This includes ideation, graphic design, mould making, mould cutting, casting, curing, painting and finishing. Our entire process supports environmental sustainability in that we do not create or emit pollutants, we use environmentally friendly raw materials, including low VOC paints and our mould making system is ninety percent reusable.

Signage Solutions for Museums and Galleries

One of the most important ingredients of a memorable museum experience is effective use of signage to guide visitors through the exhibits and educate them on its significance, but there are also growing demands to ensure their new signs seamlessly integrate with each location’s aesthetic. Over the years museum signage has evolved from simple way finding and is now considered to be an integral part of enhancing the visitors experience, and many are turning to the design experts at FusionCast inc. for a less expensive and more sustainable Engineered Cast Metal product, with unlimited design flexibility. FusionCast signage perfectly mimics, bronze, copper or aluminum, while featuring a HDU (high density urethane) core that significantly reduces the weight making it much easier to install, move and change with the exhibits.

As a custom sign shop, FusionCast specializes in bringing even the most ambitious concepts to life. “We have found an increasing amount of demand for museum signage that can utilize technology to enhance the visitor’s experience” and contrary to popular belief you do not have to settle for large LED displays in order for your signage to be interactive. Attaching a metal QR code that color matches the sign offers the customer an additional source of information, keeps the museum current with recent trends and does not limit them to large unsightly digital boards. FusionCasts’ versatile process allows museum managers to feature signage which is stunning and timeless, much like the artifacts on display, while remaining cutting edge and flexible.

As well as new technology, the other big influence on museum and gallery signage is an increasing demand for environmentally-friendly way-finding solutions. While people do not typically associate cast metal with an environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, FusionCast products offer a unique green story which challenges that ideal. Entirely manufactured  in Oakville, Ontario an engineered cast metal sign requires no smelting, this is possible by blending recycled ionized metals with a sturdy HDU core creating a product that is comparably durable to traditional cast but manufactured at room temperature! In fact, 90% of all materials used in creating a FusionCast sign are reused and recycled, and FusionCast prides itself on continually finding ways to increase the sustainability of their process.

If your museum or gallery is looking for an upgrade of its way finding or signage solutions, you should contact FusionCast for a custom consultation. After many years in the signage industry, their design experts are well equipped to work with you in creating the perfect piece that integrates with, and improves your aesthetic, incorporates technology to improve the visitors experience and allows you to boast about the best looking, environmentally friendly, cast signage around!

Your clients depend on architectural signage to do more than communicate a message. Architectural signage must also help build the brand name of the company it serves.

That makes architectural signage one of the more challenging assignments in the industry because success depends not only on precision craftsmanship but also on cutting edge design and carefully selected materials that will best represent the finished product.

Understanding the different needs for indoor versus outdoor signage, such as durability, lighting, regulations and installation can help your company overcome the myriad of architectural signage obstacles. Equally important, however, is communicating with your customers. The key issues with customers are timing and cost. Discussing realistic expectations every step along the way using specs, photos and illustrations saves time and money in the end.

Choosing the Right Materials for the Job
Between durability and lighting concerns, choosing the right materials for architectural signage can be a major obstacle for the novice. And making clients understand these various issues can be a challenge in itself.
The balance between aesthetic quality and budgetary concerns are vital to ensuring your customer is as satisfied as possible with their signage once it is installed. This makes constant council with your customer essential so that they are informed each step of the way and actively involved in the decision making process.

How Light Impacts Display
Fade resistant materials are important to protect both indoor and outdoor architectural signage from the sun, but understanding the impact of ambient lighting is also a key challenge for sign makers. If you’re looking for Signage that will sit directly in the sun, we always recommend a flat or suede finish to reduce glare and reflection, conversely if your signage project is interior, a high gloss finish can often give pieces an attractive and attention grabbing look.

If you are new to the architectural signage market, give us a call! As experts in architectural design, and manufacturers of FusionCast signage, it would be great to discuss the intricacies of job specifications and benefits of offering engineered signage to your clients. It can be an overwhelming task at first, but knowing the industry and the products available is paramount to your success.

FusionCast congratulates the ISA on earning a spot on the '50 Fastest Growing Trade Shows' lists

Everyone involved in the Sign Industry will be aware of the International Sign Association, their trade shows are always well attended and flawlessly managed, and have become a "must visit" event for many sign companies actively on the trade show circuit. For these reasons it was a great to come across an article this morning, welcoming the ISA into an elite group of Trade Show success, Trade Show Executives "50 Fastest Growing Trade Shows".

A wonderful accolade for the folks at the ISA, but I couldn't get over the  implications this has for the industry as a whole! There are thousands of Trade Shows in North America every year, and for a sign specific show to snag a top spot on a very exclusive list, suggests that the industry is booming, we are all connecting better and we've created a space where many of us can compete and add value, gradually balancing the scales away from oligopolies the industry faced in the past. By leveraging the power of networking, at shows like the ISA, and using them as a platform to jump into global markets the collective power of smaller sign companies is bringing the industry to the forefront. Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO also sees the far reaching implications and new found vitality in the industry, saying "it only solidifies what we all felt at ISA International Sign Expo 2013: a new energy in our industry.”

The most recent, International Sign Expo featured 595 companies occupying a combines space of 202,000 square feet! and what's more, attendance exceeded 19,500, making it one of the largest International Sign Expo events in ISA history. "The increase in each area was significant enough to place ISA on separate lists for the growth in attendance and number of exhibiting companies." Impressive, indeed.

Make sure you visit FusionCast at the ISA International Sign Expo, April 23-26 2014 in Orlando, Fla. We'll be on site for the whole week and looking forward to connecting with you! If you're a sign dealer, ask about our sample program - our stunning sample plaques feature your logo, and are a great reference point to show customers as they inquire.

Congratulation to Lori and the gang at ISA,

Signage and Curb Appeal

Check out this great infographic from the Door Emporium, on Curb Appeal "Do's and Don'ts":

  1. Ensure your roof and chimney are in great shape! If your shingles are in obvious disrepair it will be the first thing a perspective buyer will notice, if your property looks like it's been well cared for, perspective buyers will assume that the rest of the property has been also.
  2. Clean your gutters - This one is easy and cheap, so there are no excuses! Although everyone may not notice how clean they are, they'll certainly notice if they're dirty.
  3. Invest in cool house numbers - our specialty at FusionCast! Design an address plaque which is as unique and classy as your home, pay attention to size, background color and choice of metal to ensure it suits your property. A classic black background and bronze sign gives a classy, timeless look, which works well with most homes! But you know best, so why not design it yourself?! Visit: www.FusionCast.com and click through to the sign builder for an interactive design experience
  4. Windows and trim are another tell tale sign of the level of maintenance your home has enjoyed throughout the years, also in many homes the road facing windows make up a majority of the facade,  they MUST be spotless!
  5. CLEAN IT! A large task - yes, but what a difference it can make! Many people don't ever wash their house, but give it a try, you'll be amazed at the beauty hidden underneath those layers of weathering and dirt.
